Hi, welcome to Ultimate Degrassi.
About Me: My name is Kylie, and I am 22. I live in Australia, and work full time, plus study part time. I live with my boyfriend of six years, and our two puppies.
My favourite TV show of all time is Beverly Hills 90210 (the original), but following closely are Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, and all of the Degrassi series (Plus, I have many more TV loves).
I am also a bookworm, with my all time favourite series being Harry Potter (serious HP fan here), and my favourite book (and movie) is Gone with the Wind.
In terms of Degrassi, I have always had access to the old series, and bought them on DVD years ago. But TNG was only shown here sporadically, and only up to season three. Season one was the only season released on DVD also, which I bought as soon as I could.
So, I got desperate, and ordered seasons 2-6 from Amazon, and I rewatched parts of season two and three, and then... started season four. I literally spent one weekend watching Degrassi, and now I can't wait for season 7 to be released on DVD.
I am a massive shipper in EVERYTHING (I have very definate ideas of who I think should get together in everything I love), and my favourite ship in Degrassi is Emma & Sean. I also love Joey & Caitlin (always have, since the original), Spike & Snake and JT & Liberty. That's all for now, I think.

Hello! About MeMy name is Emma, I am 14 (just), and henceforth, I am in high school. I live in Australia, melbourne, with my parents and sister who is currently trying to get me to help her study for her international studies exam. Degrassi is one of my favourite TV series ever, I also love Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes (from the BBC) and several British Comedies (Blackadder, Red Dward, Monty Python, etc). I read a lot of books too, and my favorite author is V.C Andrews - actually, Kylie, there is a person on one the V.C Andrews forum I belong to, her username is "Kylie90210" she loves Beverly Hills 90210 too, and I think she also loves HP and Gone With the Wind, and I think she too lives in Australia. Is that you, Kylie? My experience with Degrassi has been a strange one. In 2003, the ABC started screening the first DTNG season, and I watched it almost-religiously. My interest somewhat faded away, and the ABC stopped showing it after season 3, so I forgot about Degrassi for a few years, until last year. Last year, I rediscovered Degrassi via wikipedia, and realised how interesting it sounded. I looked up and down for the DTNG DVDs, and I couldn't find them - but I did discover the Old Series DVDs, bought them, watched them, and fell in love with the series. I also learnt to simply download DTNG episodes off the internet... as long as I don't tell my sister. >.> I have a lot of shipping tendencies, in DTNG my favorite couples are Jimmy/Ashley (I fell for them HARD in the first series. I never looked back) and Sean/Emma (True love full stop). In the old Degrassi, favorite couples are harder to pick - Joey and Caitlin are the eternal couple and quite sweet, but enternally screwing each other over. I think BLT/Michelle were a really sweet couple, especially when he was worried about her (Sixteen, Stressed Out). I also like to support couples that were never explicitly romantic in the actual series - I found the Rick/Kathleen interaction in 'Bottled Up' adorable, and I so wished they'd followed up on the implication Heather had a crush on Joey in 'Revolution'. I also manage to support some slash couples - nothing will ever convince me that Snake and Wheels were anything less than totally in love. NOTHING. so... that is me.

I'm a little late to introducing myself here, but everyone that's a member here has come from D-B and I've talked to all of you there, so there really hasn't been much of a need for me to introduce myself. Anyway, I'm 26 and I live in the States in the state of Michigan. I actually live pretty close to the Michigan/Canada border at the bridge that connects Detroit, MI with Windsor, Ont. (It wouldn't take me very long to get there if I wanted to, it's only an hour and a half drive. In fact, there was a time when I was in high school where I seriously contemplated going to college in Windsor. They have a great business school there and the city itself is beautiful! If I had gone and really liked it there, I was going to apply for citizenship once I was eligible, and if I was granted it right now I would be saving about $150 a month on health insurance because Canadians get their health insurance for free from the government. But stuff happened and I never got to go, but I'm hoping that someday I'll get a chance to live there! ) My Degrassi obsession started in the mid 80s, when the local PBS station started airing Degrassi Junior High. I have a sister who is 11 years older than me and she used to watch it all the time. We've always been really close, and when I was little she was the coolest person I knew and I wanted to do everything she did, and for the most part she was pretty cool about letting me hang out with her and do some of the stuff that she did. So when she watched Degrassi, I watched Degrassi. Even as a little kid the storylines were easy for me to pick up on, and although some of the stuff wasn't really appropriate for my age, I still figured it all out and knew what was going on! I had most of the Degrassi episodes on tape, and when I started junior high myself those tapes became like my saviors! Here I was, 12 years old and starting all over again in a new school in a new school district (My family had moved the summer before I started junior high), I didn't know anybody and I didn't have any friends for at least a month after school started. I had already started going through that really awkward stage where I wasn't really a kid but I wasn't really an adult. Being blessed as I was, I was already well into puberty by the time I entered Grade 6, so I developed sooner than most of the girls in my class. (That was one of the worst things I think I have ever experienced! ) So that's when I started feeling like I could relate to the kids from Degrassi. I was experiencing the ups and downs of adolescence, and when I watched my Degrassi tapes it was kind of like talking to a group of old friends and the friends were saying "It's OK, I've been there, and you're not alone!" Now I'm not a teenager anymore, but I still the series every bit as much as I did when I was kid! I own all three seasons of Degrassi Junior High on DVD, the complete series of Degrassi High on DVD (With School's Out!, of course! ), season one of TNG, and Jay and Silent Bob Do Degrassi.

I think that's it. But there are a whole bunch of episodes I want to see.
Anyway, I found this board from the link Wheels' Girl posted on degrassiboards.com... Yay.
